Free online hearing test designed by audiologists
Take 3 minutes to see your next steps to improve your hearing
According to the Hearing Loss Association of America, 48 million American adults have some degree of hearing loss. While hearing loss is a common problem, it often goes undiagnosed and untreated. Some people may not be aware they have hearing loss because it typically occurs gradually.
That’s why Jabra Enhance offers a free online hearing test designed by audiologists to help you understand your hearing needs. If results suggest a degree of hearing loss, we'll walk through options to hear better, like hearing aids.
What type of hearing test is this?
Our test can help you learn more about your hearing and decide whether hearing aids are right for you. In this tone test, we’ll play tones at different pitches for the left and right ears.
Although this test is not medically diagnostic, we can use the results to help determine if you're a candidate for Jabra Enhance Select hearing aids. If you are, our Audiology Team can custom-program your hearing aids with your unique hearing profile.
Already have an audiogram? Great! Simply upload your audiogram for our team to review. If you’re a candidate for our hearing aids, we’ll use your audiogram to program them for your hearing needs.
Who is this hearing test for?
This research-backed test is designed for any adults who would like to learn more about their hearing. It’s a quick and easy first step to get an overview of your hearing and recommendations for hearing aids.
The test is especially suited for:
- Those with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss
- First-time hearing aid wearers
- Current hearing aid wearers
- Anyone who wants to test their hearing at home

How does the hearing test work?
During the hearing test, you’ll test your ability to hear different frequencies and whether you can easily distinguish between different sounds. In order to help interpret your hearing needs, our test measures the softest sounds that you can hear at various frequencies.
We’ll test tones heard in one ear before switching to the next ear, so you get results for each ear.

Preparing for the online hearing test
While taking this test from the comfort of your home, keep these tips in mind to get the best results:
• Find a quiet space: avoid background noises that could interfere with the test
• Take out any hearing aids you may be wearing
• Use any headphones or earbuds: most commonly used models should work fine
• Set your volume to 100%: this helps with the softest sounds
• Make sure you have 3 uninterrupted minutes: take your time
What kind of results will I get?
Your results will be based on your responses to the tones in each ear. If results suggest mild to moderate hearing loss or above, you may also see options for treatment like hearing aids.
Your results will include:
- Your personalized hearing profile: You could see low, mid, and high frequency hearing results.
- Hearing loss range: Results may range from mild to moderate, significantly impaired, or severe.
- Left ear and right ear: We test both ears and display any differences in both ears.
- Whether you’re a candidate for Jabra Enhance hearing aids: If you’re a good fit for hearing aids, we can provide product recommendations to help you hear better.

Why you should test your hearing
You can benefit greatly if you catch hearing loss early, so you can treat it more effectively. While hearing loss can be gradual at first, it can progress to become more difficult to treat. As a result of advanced hearing loss, people can find themselves avoiding interactions with the people and experiences they used to enjoy. With this mind, it's best to tackle hearing problems as soon as you notice them.
Here are more reasons to get your hearing tested:
- Get a baseline for your hearing: After you complete the online test, our Audiology Team reviews your results and establishes baseline settings for hearing devices.
- Strengthen work and personal relationships: Being unable to hear conversations could result in miscommunication at work or lead to withdrawing from social situations.
- Improve your brain health: Research has shown untreated hearing loss is connected to cognitive decline.
Our test is designed only to indicate if you may be an appropriate candidate for our hearing aids. It provides us with enough information to create your personal hearing profile and program your hearing devices. Our test does not diagnose hearing loss or any other disease or condition.
However, if your results indicate any medical conditions beyond common hearing loss, we may advise you to seek further care.
Hearing loss doesn't have to go undiagnosed or untreated. Whether you want to learn more about your hearing or explore options around treating hearing loss, our online test is a great first step. We're here to guide you on your way toward better hearing so let's get started together.
